The lime rich soils in the north of the Cte de Nuits lend the Chardonnay a cool tension and a clear, straightforward structure. Jean Fournier deliberately works in a terroir driven manner with very restrained vinification, which makes the wine incredibly transparent and lively. The 2023 vintage is open and energetic, yet calm and harmoniously structured.
