Jahrhunderts. Als Sohn des Landschaftsmalers Christian Hilfgott Brand und lterer Bruder des ebenfalls als Landschaftsmaler ttigen Friedrich August Brand war die Kunst bereits frh ein Teil seiner Familie. Johann Christian Brand studierte ab 1736 an der Wiener Akademie und erhielt dort 1772 die Professur fr Landschaftszeichnen.
