NonFiction Photo Festival

The NonFiction Photo Festival 2022 is a wrap. The world renowned World Press Photo Exhibition and the premiere of Future Food have inspired some 5200 people, next year we will be back with a new edition.

As part of this photo festival, local photographers represent the story in the North, while the internationally acclaimed Future Food, terwijl de internationaal geroemde World Press Photo Exhibition 2022 de rest van de wereld onder de loep neemt. Voor wie meer wil weten is er weer een prikkelend Academy programme voor iedereen. Het is ook mogelijk om het festival te bezoeken as a class outing or as a company outing.

World Press Photo Exhibition 2022

The World Press Photo Exhibition shows the best of visual journalism from the past year. The Photo Contest judged 4,066 photographers from 130 countries have entered 64,823 images. From these images, the best have been selected to tell the story of our times.

The World Press Photo Exhibition has a new formula. Read here about how the organisation is trying to make the exposition more diverse. A remarkable new category is Open Format, with a more artistic approach.

Future Food

The local answer to the World Press Photo Exhibition comes in the form of Future Food: an exhibition on new tech and re-found old methods. Artists, makers and photographers from the North show their vision on the current food issues we face.Future Food‘: about new technology and rediscovered old methods. Artists, makers and photographers from the North present how we solve current food problems.

See the World Press Photo Exhibition 2022 through the eyes of a photographer or media expert. Every Saturday and Sunday 14.30 – 15.30. Part of the Visual Academy programme.

Experience the exhibitions Future Food and World Press Photo Exhibition 2022 with a lecture, workshop or by talking to the makers. This unique programme is part of the Visual Academy programme.

Our festival is housed in the beautiful Synagogue Groningen. Want to know more about this monumental building? Take a daily guided tour at 13.00, except on Saturdays. Ask at the desk or book online.

The festival is suitable for Dutch and English speakers. The Visual Academy events are in English and the Visual Academy tours are either in Dutch or in English.
