Everyone needs clothing. The clothing industry is one of the largest industries in the world. Our exhibition explores the world of fast fashion, which is becoming increasingly known for being environmentally devastating and its issues with labour abuse. Through portraits of local entrepreneurs and consumers by photographers Sebastiaan Rodenhuis, Dennis Lapré and Andrea Hooymans, we are revealed to the local solutions to these global issues.

Gain hands-on experience in printing at our cyanotype printing workshop. This photographic process produces beautiful Prussian-blue prints by placing objects directly on a sheet of photographic paper exposed to UV light. The workshop is on between 11.30 - 13.00 and 14.00 - 15.30. You need 30 minutes to finish your print. This workshop is suitable for adults and children from 12 years of age.
After you have your prints done, we will be happy to tell you a little bit of the history of cyanotype printing. During this mini-lecture in English, Persephone Michou, a photographer specialised in the method, will talk about the techniques and her project The Perfect Blue that recreates old family photographs in cyanotype at 16.15. This lecture will be in English.
On top of that, De Biotoop is an interesting quarter in its own right. A unique project of public housing, de Biotoop is where artists, designers, musicians, architects, web developers, furniture makers, woodworkers – disciplines and crafts operate closely together. In addition to living and working spaces, the Biotoop also offers space for a self-harvest garden, a conference center and film, theater and music performances.
