This position can also be fulfilled in an internship. This vacancy can be adapted to be filled by a professional, trainee or intern.

Activities

As an education employee you are part of the Education Team. You work together with other education staff and the programmer. You help put together lessons and lectures for the Lessons on Location projects; teach pupils and students; and create training courses and handouts for tour guides. In addition, you participate in education-related projects; from video shooting to marketing campaigns and PR tasks.

  • Update lesson instructions 
  • Create handouts for tour guides
  • Give lessons to secondary school students in the region
  • Provide trainings to tour guides
  • Think along and work together with the market outlet for the education package.
  • Support in the promotion of the education package.
  • Support with educational projects such as video shooting and marketing campaigns
Profile

You have completed or finish your education in culture. You can write well in Dutch and you can work within specific regulations. You are creative, attention-to-detail, working independently, and open to feedback.

  • Enthusiastic about the vision and objective of NonFiction Photo.
  • A practical attitude with an eye for deadlines.
  • A strong team player who is also able to work independently.
  • Affinity and preferably also experience with photography and journalism.
  • You are aware of and have (some) experience in pedagogy for secondary education and senior secondary vocational education.
  • You can write creatively from an existing format.
  • You are creative and communicative, both verbally and in writing.
  • A training in the field of (cultural) education at least at HBO level.
Internship

It is possible to fill this vacancy as an intern, from 5 ECT. Under the guidance of experienced professionals you can work part time or full time. We adjust the internship period, duration and content to fit your course and education level. This is a challenging internship with hard deadlines, especially if you have your run between October and December.

Traineeship

If you are at the start of your career, it is possible to fulfill this position as a trainee. This is a work experience place with personal guidance and a lot of responsibility.

Professional

NonFiction Photo Community

NonFiction photo is an ideological organisation with an eye for its people. Here you work both independently and in a team as part of a diverse team in a creative environment. You have plenty of room for self-development, get a look behind the scenes of a large-scale cultural event and can meet (well-known) photographers. The team meets up monthly for consultation and conviviality and ends the period with a party. Thanks to the direct way of communication, there is a lot of room for your own initiative and creativity.

A number of specific features for this function:

  • As a trainee or professional, the maximum monthly volunteer allowance of €170 per month is available for this position.
  • Design lesson instructions yourself using InDesign. If necessary, we'll teach you!
  • Assist in the development of new educational offers, whether or not via external platforms. This can certainly be done on your own initiative.

Working Period

First half of the year

From February to July you are committed to content creation and projects such as pop-up exhibitions, podcasts, lessons on location and workshops. You will also be creating the eduction pack for this year.

Second half of the year

You are active from September to December. You help during the festival as a location manager, you are present during the construction and dismantling of the festival and, of course, you are present with a number of volunteers
training sessions (two to three evenings during the week in October and November).

Weekly

You work two to three days a week (depending on how fast you work) mainly at our office between 10am and 6pm. The working days and times can be agreed upon in consultation, as long as everything is completed on time. Working (partly) at home is also negotiable.

The tasks can be expanded, depending on your availability and interests. It is possible to shift the timing of the work in consultation.
