Vacancy Volunteer Coordinator

We love it when a plan comes together. And one of our favourite moments is when all the volunteers join the team. That is quite a group at the time of the festival and that group must be coordinated. Are you social, flexible and do you work in a structured way? Then you just might be our next volunteer coordinator! This vacancy can be adapted to be filled by a professional, trainee or intern.

Deadline June 16th 2024. However, if you want to do an internship, you can register all year round.

Activities

As a volunteer coordinator you are part of the hospitalityteam.
Together with the head of hospitality, talent coordinator and the event coordinator, you make the connection between the organisation and its audience. You make sure that the volunteers feel at home with us, have a good time and learn something new. Activities can also look like this:

Volunter recruitment, contact and support.
Communication with volunteers: newsletters, handouts and other instructions and correspondence.
Organization of volunteer trainings and meetings (this includes the movie night and volunteer party)
Fill in the volunteer schedule
Location management during the festival
Provide part of the training (we do this together)

Profile

As a volunteer you are the intermediary of NonFiction and its volunteers.

Enthusiastic about the vision and objective of NonFiction Photo
A practical attitude and the ability to work independently.
You are communicative, both verbally and
in writing, both in Dutch and in English (the official language is English!)
No 9 – 5 mentality
You can work systematically and like to keep an overview
You are customer-oriented, empathetic and stress-resistant
A good local network, preferably in the (international) student world, is an advantage
A background in education, events or HR is an advantage

Internship

It is possible to fill this vacancy as an intern, from 5 ECT. You then have a supporting function for the production coordinator. Under the guidance of experienced professionals you can work part time or full time. We adjust the internship duration and content to fit your course and education level. This is a challenging internship with hard deadlines, especially if you have your run between October and December. See the internship page for more information.

Traineeship

If you are at the start of your career, it is possible to fulfill this position as a trainee. This is a work experience place with personal guidance and a lot of responsibility.

NonFiction Photo Community

NonFiction photo is an ideological organisation with an eye for its people. Here you work both independently and in a team as part of a diverse team in a creative environment. You have plenty of room for self-development, get a look behind the scenes of a large-scale cultural event and can meet (well-known) photographers. The team meets up monthly for consultation and conviviality and ends the period with a party. Thanks to the direct way of communication, there is a lot of room for your own initiative and creativity.

Extra

A number of specific features for this function:

As a trainee or professional, the maximum monthly volunteer allowance of €170 per month is available for this position.
Option: participation in the workshops of the Talent Track (photography & design)

Working Period

From July to December you work an average of 2 to 3 days a week: in the
summer 1.5 and in October and November 3 to 4 days (and then you are also
available daily for the volunteers). You help during the
festival as location manager, are present at the construction and dismantling of the festival and of course you are present with the volunteers
training sessions (6 evenings a week in October and November).

You can determine your own hours and work at our office (HQ) in the Biotoop in Haren. In consultation, it is also possible to work from home and, if desired, in the evenings and weekends. The tasks can be expanded depending on your availability and interests. It is possible to change the timing of the work in consultation.
