Vacancy Production Coordinator

Come and wave your hands as a production coordinator for the NonFiction Photo Festival. For this position you keep an overview, manage budgets and ensure that all creativity is guided in the right direction and we come to a beautiful exhibition. This vacancy can be adapted to be filled by a professional, trainee or intern.

Deadline June 16th 2024. However, if you want to do an internship, you can register all year round.

Activities

As a production coordinator, you work closely with the curator, master builder, volunteer coordinator, head of hospitality and employees of the festival location, de Synagoge Groningen.

Planning and coordination of the construction week and the completion day of the festival
Create and manage the production list and a location and exhibition manual
Responsible for making planning and deadlines
Manage documentation: photography, floor plans and more
Managing the production volunteers and Talent Track participants
Organizing job days, production consultation and volunteer construction training
Coordination of transport and exhibition technology
Inventory management, including photo archive
Budget management: keep track of current budget, oversee expenses (in collaboration with financial employee)
Location manager during the festival (a number of shifts)

Profile

We are looking for a go-getter who can keep an overview and create order in a creative environment.

Experience in production (possibly outside the cultural sector)
Can work well together
Technical insight (light and sound)
Handy and creative in coming up with solutions
Proactive; can take initiative and motivated to complete tasks without constant direction
Work in an organized way
Experience in managing a team
Communicative skills in English and Dutch
Able to provide training
The availability of transport is an advantage
Experience with stage or exhibition construction is an advantage

Internship

It is possible to fill this vacancy as an intern, from 5 ECT. You then have a supporting function for the production coordinator. Under the guidance of experienced professionals you can work part time or full time. We adjust the internship period, duration and content to fit your course and education level. This is a challenging internship with hard deadlines, especially if you have your run between October and December. See the internship page for more information.

Traineeship

If you are at the beginning of your career, it is possible to fulfill this position as a trainee production employee. This is a position with personal guidance and a lot of responsibility.

NonFiction Photo Community

NonFiction photo is an ideological organisation with an eye for its people. Here you work both independently and in a team as part of a diverse team in a creative environment. You have plenty of room for self-development, get a look behind the scenes of a large-scale cultural event and can meet (well-known) photographers. The team meets up monthly for consultation and conviviality and ends the period with a party. Thanks to the direct way of communication, there is a lot of room for your own initiative and creativity.

Extra

A number of specific features for this function:

As a trainee or professional, the maximum monthly volunteer allowance of €170 per month is available for this position.
Option: join the production team as a maker, researcher, designer or writer
Option: participation in exhibition research team
Option: production coordination of pop-up exhibitions outside the festival period (in collaboration with event coordinator)

Working Period

First half of the year

From February to July you are committed to the guidance of the Talent Track production group, realization of the main exhibition of that year, pop-up exhibitions and workshops.

Second half of the year

As a production coordinator you are active from September to January. In September and October you will focus on the workshop for the construction of the exhibition; November is all about the festival structure and location management; and in December and January you manage the storage and work on the evaluation and transfer.

Weekly

You work two to three days a week (depending on how fast you work) mainly at our office between 10am and 6pm. The working days and times can be agreed upon in consultation, as long as everything is completed on time. Working (partly) at home is also negotiable.

The tasks can be expanded, depending on your availability and interests. It is possible to shift the timing of the work in consultation.
